Copyright A legal right that grants the creator of original work exclusive control over its use and distribution.
Exclusive Rights Rights granted to authors and creators that allow them to control the use of their works.
Fair Use A legal doctrine that permits limited use of copyrighted material without permission from the rights holder.
Infringement The unauthorized use of protected work that violates the copyright holder's exclusive rights.
Intellectual Property A category of property that includes intangible creations of the human intellect.
Licensing The act of permitting someone to use intellectual property under specific conditions.
Plagiarism The practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.
Public Domain Works that are free for use by anyone, which have expired copyrights or were never copyrighted.
