Grayscale Images

Bit Depth The number of bits used to represent the color of a single pixel, which determines the range of colors.
Contrast The difference in brightness between the darkest and lightest parts of an image.
Grayscale A color scheme that represents different intensities of gray, ranging from black to white.
Grayscale Image A digital image in which each pixel is represented by a single sample, representing only shades of gray.
Histogram A graphical representation of the pixel intensities in an image.
Intensity The brightness or darkness of a pixel in a grayscale image.
Luminosity The brightness of an image or pixel.
Monochrome An image which uses only shades of a single color.
Pixel The smallest unit of a digital image, representing a single point in the image.
Thresholding A technique used to convert a grayscale image into a binary image by dividing the pixel intensities based on a threshold value.
