What are loop cards?

Loop cards are a great game that can be played individually or as a class. They are perfect for review key vocabulary or questions at the end of a topic or when revising for an exam.

Instructions

  1. Cut out the cards from the paper horizontally (but don't cut them in half!) and then shuffle them.
  2. Now start joining each question on the right hand side of the card to the matching answer on the next card.
  3. Carry on until all the cards loop together and you have competed the game!

Hint: Make sure that you set your paper to portrait to print 4 cards per sheet of A4 paper.

Edit Vocab

The process of converting ciphertext back into plaintext using a cryptographic algorithm and a key.
Substitution Cipher
A cipher that replaces each letter in the plaintext with a different letter, symbol, or number in the ciphertext.
Modulus Operator
A mathematical operator used to perform division with remainder, often denoted by the percent symbol (%).
Plaintext
The original message or data that is to be encrypted.
Transposition Cipher
A cipher that rearranges the letters or symbols of a message without changing them.
Password Cracking
The process of recovering passwords from data that has been stored or transmitted in an encrypted or hashed form.
Key Length
The length of the key used in a cipher, typically measured in bits.
Brute-Force Attack
An attack on a cipher by trying every possible key until the correct one is found.
Algorithm
A sequence of steps or instructions used to solve a problem or perform a task.
Columns
The vertical lines of the zigzag pattern used to read off the ciphertext for the Rail Fence Cipher
