Loop cards are a great game that can be played individually or as a class. They are perfect for review key vocabulary or questions at the end of a topic or when revising for an exam.
Instructions
Cut out the cards from the paper horizontally (but don't cut them in half!) and then shuffle them.
Now start joining each question on the right hand side of the card to the matching answer on the next card.
Carry on until all the cards loop together and you have competed the game!
Hint: Make sure that you set your paper to portrait to print 4 cards per sheet of A4 paper.
A performance issue in virtual memory systems where an excessive amount of time is spent swapping pages between RAM and disk.
Frame
A fixed-size block of physical memory used by the operating system to store data and instructions, aligning with the size of pages in virtual memory.
Virtual Memory
A memory management technique that allows a computer to compensate for physical memory shortages, temporarily transferring data from RAM to disk storage.
Swap Space
A designated area on a disk that the operating system uses as virtual memory.
Paging
A memory management scheme that eliminates the need for contiguous allocation of physical memory.
Page Table
A data structure used by the operating system to map virtual addresses to physical addresses.
Memory Mapping
The process of assigning portions of virtual memory to physical memory locations.
Translation Lookaside Buffer
A cache that stores translations from virtual memory addresses to physical memory addresses.
Page Fault
When a process requests a page that is not currently in memory.
